Why is it that when we’re feeling overwhelmed, we no longer have time for self-care? First, Let me rewind... Hi! 👋🏿 I know it’s been a minute, well MONTHS, since I’ve shared details on this journey! I’ve been busy a.k.a feeling overwhelmed, with everything on my plate: 1️⃣ Family Life 2️⃣ Home Life 3️⃣ Work-Life 4️⃣ oh and Pregnancy Life, so I couldn’t find the time or energy to share. (Consider these pregnancy photos a peace offering) Back to my point, have you ever felt so busy that you couldn’t justify taking time for yourself? No? Just me? Anything that throws me off my routine for more than a couple of days will overwhelm me: if the girls are homesick, my husband is out of town, or I have a big project at work, I will only do what is necessary to “survive” the moment and will limit or completely stop making time for myself But this last period of overwhelm didn’t last a couple of days or weeks, it was months! And months of limited/ no self-care left me so defeated. I felt so crappy on top of being overwhelmed. And this bout of crappiness is when it hit me: I can’t only make self-care a priority when things are going as planned. My self-care needs to be non-negotiable because it’s what will help me feel good (and sane) when ish gets hard. Let me say it again, Self-Care is what will allow me to maintain my joy when life throws its curve balls. So the assignment is to make self-care a priority, no matter what I have going on. Let’s see how it goes now that baby number three is here. #selfcare #momselfcare #evolving #newmomagain #maternityphotography
