I often wonder how it must have been like to live in some of these cottages during the olden times, with very small spaces, uneven walls to wonky floors, how imperfect these cottages seems but yet there’s something so charming about them 💙 We recently stayed at a beautiful period cottage dating back to the 16th century right in the heart of Chipping Campden. It was the type of cottage where the door opened straight into the living room with an open fireplace, a beautiful country style kitchen leading to an outdoor garden and a downstairs bathroom, with 2 small rooms upstairs. I’m not going to lie, but I did think about how I would fit all my clothes if I was to live there permanently with very limited storage and cupboard space on sight, would I have coped? 🙈 I sat in the cosy sitting room admiring the quaintness of the property and couldn’t help but think living in a thatched cottage is akin to living in a little piece of history. These charming and unique homes allows you to take pleasure in the simple pleasures in life, I felt happy and content.
