It only took 3 years, but I finally got my EU passport! I applied for my Irish citizenship during the last election cycle to give myself and James an escape plan just in case everyone went horribly wrong. But it’s also nice to be able to work, travel and live freely all over Europe if I ever choose to. I also absolutely love Ireland. The process was not easy, but if your parents or grandparents are from Ireland, it’s worth looking just to. My dad immigrated but he denounced his citizenship, so I had to use my grandparents info. It was a lot of hunting down birth, death, and marriage certificates from all over the world! I’m excited to be out there in May as a citizen!
