every element of friend + folk is deeply personal + nostalgic to our founder @alexareyesx our colorway sesame was inspired by her favorite childhood memories making greek cookies with her Yiayia (grandmother) 🇬🇷 we know that Yiayia Molly would love that we’re sharing the recipe with all of you ✨ Yiayia Molly’s Koulourakia 2 sticks butter, softened 1 1⁄2 cups sugar 1 Tbsp vanilla 6 eggs, room temp 1 1⁄2 Tbsp baking powder 5 cups of flour as needed. 1 egg, beaten sesame seeds 1. Beat butter until creamy. 2. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. 3. Add eggs one at a time. 4. Add vanilla followed by the baking powder. 5. Add flour slowly — one cup at a time. When it starts to get thick, stop and change to the hook attachment or knead by hand. 6. Keep adding flour slowly, stopping occasionally to see if it is a good consistency. Pro tip: the dough is ready when you take a hunk of dough, roll it in your hands and it is just slightly sticky. 7. Shape the cookies by taking a small chunk of dough + roll it out until thin. Then, braid the dough (as shown in video) or shape as you wish. 8. Place on baking sheet 9. Brush with egg wash + sesame seeds. 10. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
