sabukaru Sommer - Fugu Store Editorial The sound of cicadas, intense heat, blue, blue skies. Japanese summer is almost exactly how you see it in anime, and it's a no-brainer for us to shoot an editorial under the hot sun. This time we teamed up with Fugu Store [@fugugram] for a mid-summer Japanese sommer-inspired editorial. Heavily influenced by Tokyo streetwear and pop culture like video games, anime, and cars, Fugu Store is an up-and-coming brand with a touch of Y2K aesthetic. While Fugu Store produces high-quality clothing with the above influences, they also have a second collection, Fugu Leisurewear. This collection pays homage to 70s & 80s beach-and-vacation wear. "Fugu" are pufferfish in Japan, which are considered a delicacy. However, they are highly poisonous, and they are one of the only fish that require a license to handle & serve at restaurants. Similar to how it takes a long time to learn & obtain a license, Fugu Store is a specialty that took several years to create, and they are always taking the time to achieve the highest quality in their pieces.
