I love reading fantasy books, and here are a few I’ll never stop recommending: • ‘The Will of the Many’ by @James Islington : I read this book over a year ago, and I still think about it all the time. The magic system is fascinating, the main character is incredibly clever, and part of the story takes place in an academy on an island; perfection. I’m so excited that book 2, ‘The Strength of the Few’, is coming out soon! • ‘The Raven Scholar’ by Antonia Hodgson : I have a longer review of this one in another video if you’re interested, so I’ll keep it short here. This story completely took me by surprise! I loved that the main characters are in their thirties and some of them are BIPOC. There are intense trials, political intrigue and the ending is simply mind blowing. • ‘A Touch of Gold & Madness’ by @K.L. DeVore Fantasy Author : Definitely one of my favorite books. I completely fell in love with the characters in this dark fantasy romance set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world. The twists blew me away. I also adored ‘The Embrace of Steel & Sorrow’ (the first book in the prequel series set in the same world). • ‘Babel’ by R. F. Kuang : a true masterpiece and one of my all-time favorites. This book made me feel so seen. R. F. Kuang is one of my favorite authors and ‘Babel’ is the one I love the most. I really appreciated how the heavy and important themes this book dives into were written about. The way it talks about colonialism, microagressions, racism, sexism, etc. was impeccable and I think it’s a book everyone should read. • ‘Legendborn’ by Tracy Deonn : Book one in one of my favorite YA fantasy series. Even though it's YA, it doesn’t read YA. I loved the writing and how it gives a modern-day twist to a classic legend. It tackles racism, grief, bigotry, and so many other important topics. The characters have so much depth, and I can’t wait for book 4.
