🎨 Mandy El-Sayegh, Net-Grid (MASCULINE), 2022. Oil and acrylic on canvas and linen with silkscreened and collaged elements, 92.52 x 88.58 inches (235 x 225 cm). Photos by Eva Herzog
About this artwork: @MandyElSayegh’s oeuvre explores the compounding nature of information. Created through the assemblage of material and hand-painted markings, these works represent the process of trapping, distilling, and retaining knowledge or data; they capture both intended meaning and happenstance association. The artist roots her highly process-driven practice in an exploration of material and language as a means of investigating the formation and break-down of bodily, linguistic, and political systems of order. In several new works presented at the fair, El-Sayegh engages imagery pertaining to the body in order to explore the relationship between self-representation and biological and societal structures.
