Black Designers make up less than 7% percent of creatives working in the footwear Industry. We have been Systematically excluded from this field, yet we are heavily marketed to. In 2020 Converse launched its apprenticeship program, with a focus to hire more black creatives. I was One of the 6 designers hired in this program.This past year I’ve had some of the most rewarding and inspiring moments in my life and career.I have made some new friends and that is always a gud feeling. I'm excited for the future of Fashion, there are new fresh faces, with new dope ideas, all coming from the black imagination.
