Rising Hearts was at the 2022 The Running Event on Lipan Apache, Coahuiltecan, Comanche, Carrizo-Comecrudo + Tonkawa Lands / Austin, TX! We have lots more to share along with an exciting announcement! But we wanted to share our initial reflections! First - what a way to represent, along with other inspiring voices and changemakers! We are grateful to be part of that. So much collaboration, as well as informing / educating (that’ll never stop but hope we get to a place where we don’t have to tirelessly do this), building community and advocating for a diverse, safe, supportive, affordable, accessible, visible, and inclusive future with the running and outdoor communities, as well as for all of Unči Maka 🌎 We got to meet @hozhorunner4 of @native_women_running - @alisonmdesir - @mireille.sine - @kierasmalls of @runningdiversity - @zachary_movement (one of our Athlete Advocates), @runners4publiclands @baklinerunning @runjanji - make new friends and kin, as well as see familiar faces! We hope to see more voices of color at these events! We hope to see more of our community have access to events such as this. We are starting to see brands and companies do this already, and we applaud those efforts! Keep ‘em coming! We know this event is very specific to this industry we are in. But community, especially those who don’t see themselves always, be part of this process in a variety of creative ways - through tech - innovation - product - fuel - stories - reviews - and to work with these brands and companies. Some change needs to happen - always room for improvement! We love all things running, health and wellness and that is 3 program areas of Rising Hearts that will never change.
