One thing I always do, that I highly recommend, is coming to a race with an extra option. Even if I can’t bring the van, I fly with an extra tire or 2 and a small bottle of @orangesealed sealant. Conditions can change, sometimes the course is rougher/smoother than expected, or you can puncture pre riding. I’ve never ridden BWR Kansas and course intel is murky, Today I seated an initial mullet setup of @ircbike_official Doublecross 38 front & Classic #boken 40 rear. I may need to adjust after the pre ride and I’m covered should it be rougher then expected. I’ll also throw some DC 42s in the bike bag for Big Sugar a week later. Lastly, I’m going to use the deeper #Ultegra 50 instead of #GRX @rideshimano wheels. The new Ultegra can hold an 11spd cassette still, making it a great aero option for gravel. Remember, the best chance you give yourself of a bad day is showing up with compromised equipment, such as the wrong or beat up tires, before the gun even goes off. PS: double check the direction you mount your tires 🤦‍♂️
