i was skating to work this morning the opposite way down a one way street when i lost balance and jumped off the board as it rolled toward an oncoming suv. i said a silent goodbye to the board as i watched, but then a miracle happened. the suv tires hit it directly but somehow launched it spinning probably 8-9 feet into the air toward me. i mindlessly stuck out my arms to catch it, and it landed perfectly in the crook of my left arm. i had headphones in and still heard bystanders go “whaaaattt” but i just continued walking as though nothing had happened or that i shouldn’t catch my breath and contemplate the fact that i just hit the peak of my existence. anyway i don’t have any proof this cool thing happened besides these amateur sketches that depict my expressions under the mask i was wearing, + a photo of the impact scrape on my arm, but the board survived and then i walked into the most exhausting shift i’ve had yet at my new job 😃
