Isabella Plantation Trees 2022 Part 1 The Isabella Plantation is a 40 acre woodland garden set within a Victorian woodland plantation planted in the 1830's. First opened to the public in 1953, it is best known for its evergreen azaleas. Prunus Serrula: Birch bark cherry, or Tibetan cherry, is a species of cherry native to China, and is used as an ornamental in many parts of the world for its striking coppery-red bark. Davidia involucrata: Large tree that forms an undulating rounded crown later in life. The crown consists of sturdy branches that turn colour from olive green to yellow-brown. Acer Davidii 'Ernest Wilson': A deciduous tree with arching branches and green-and white-streaked bark. Pale green leaves turn orange in autumn. The pale yellow flowers are followed by pinkish-brown, winged fruit. Henry’s Viburnum: An evergreen shrub, typically growing 7 to 15 feet. Its growth habit is lax, especially when young, but its spread-ing, arching branches can be pruned into a small upright tree. Stewartia Pseudocamellia: Also known as Korean stewartia, Japanese stewartia is a species of flowering plant in the family Theaceae, native to Japan. Magnolia Delavayi: A small evergreen tree. Magnolia delavayi is native to southern China, occurring in Guizhou, Sichuan and Yunnan. Clematis Montana Var. Wilson is: A deciduous climber up to 9 metres high with green leaves and starry flowers. The flowers are white with greeny-cream stamens and have a scent reminiscent of chocolate. Cercidiphyllum Magnificum: Known as caramel tree for the light, sweet smell it emits during leaf fall, compared to cotton candy or "freshly baked biscuits and bread". Acer Tataricum Subsp. Gin ala: A bushy deciduous shrub with deeply 3-lobed leaves which turn deep red in autumn; small cream flowers are followed by red fruit. Arbutus Unedo: An evergreen shrub in the flowering plant family Ericaceae native to the Mediterranean region and western Europe.
