Influences of the Touch Collection ✨ First up, the glorious, ground-breaking Beverly Johnson, during one of my favorite fashion periods, the 1970s. In particular, this makeup-free shot taken by Francesco Scavullo.
The modernity of this is in it’s timelessness. Clean, easy, honest, direct... hydrated! 💦 and Beverly Johnson is an icon of elegance and Black beauty - breaking the mold as the first Black woman on the cover of American Vogue. The additional images encapsulate the clean-lined silhouettes of designers such as the legendary Halston (Second slide) that I always love. The glamorous ease and simplicity of these looks echo the natural wearability that I always strive to imbue into my work.
Each piece in the Touch collection was meant to have a certain “touchable” sensuality to it (hence the name). The finish on each piece is a matte satin, achieved after first going through multiple stages to a high polish, and then applying a specific last-stage textured buffing, giving it a subtle sheen, akin to the glowing skin of our muse Thee Beverly Johnson.
