This was the first day I ever went out in public showing my acne. And it’s one of my favourite pictures of me with acne because it reminds me of so much. Even though this day was hard, even though I almost chickened out and went to town covering my acne with foundation and concealer, and even though catching people double taking and staring at my acne took its toll, I am proud. Because despite all of that, it felt like it was the beginning of me finally being able to feel comfortable with my acne. It was me learning to love myself whether I had texture on my skin or not. And it was me showing society that we don’t need to cover up our acne. And it felt GOOD.
