They say a great song is 90% of the battle in music videos and I agree. This concept couldn't have been a fraction of what it is for any other track. Any other band. With anyone else’s performance. With anyone else’s style, grace, and humor. The energy in the room was PALPABLE when we filmed their performance. Whether it's live, real, or not, you can feel the difference in the presence of a legend. Each of them gave 1,000% on every take. My neck is still recovering from headbanging. I’m so touched by the faith the band and their team had in me every step of the way. My life as I knew it imploded the day the job awarded and I couldn't fathom how I was going to produce my most complicated shoot yet while living out of a suitcase, saying goodbye to my old life and building a new one all at once. It still blows my mind I somehow made my best work while processing through some of my deepest trauma. It taught me that, as an artist, the process of creation is at once this thing that comes through you, but also a container that holds you.
