Our full performance on NBC for Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks. I could say a lot about this holiday celebrating freedom when we are not all free. I am a Black Queer Woman, the trifecta of the repressed in this country. This holiday on the heels of Roe being overturned was an exceptionally tough one. It was nice to see people come together to celebrate friendship and hold one another up in our circles of people who know there is so much work to be done. I also thought of Brittney Griner who is still in a Russian prison fearing she will never get out and hardly anyone talking about it. I hope one day we can celebrate a country that is truly Liberty for ALL.
