I came to @acrossandes with the goal of using everything I’ve learned in 2 years of bike packing and Ultra-racing to put together a fast, smooth ride. Try to make little mistakes, keep my stop time low, push myself past my limits and try and finish in under 72 hours. Lofty goal since 72 hours was 3rd place last year, but I was ambitious to make my solo-debut at a big race something to walk away stoked from going into a big 2023 season. I finished @acrossandes 2022 in 75 hours, covering 630 miles // 49,000ft in elevation gain and finished in 10th position & I couldn’t be more stoked on it. Being that the both the mens winner and womens winner (@watt_wagon is coming for everyone!!!) SMASHED previous records, it was by far a much faster and more competitive race than before. I could go on forever about the mistakes I made, the long nights, the hallucinations and freezing my ass off at a bus stop at 2am but what I’ll take away from this event most was the community. Having a base camp where everyone gets to finish and hang out was 🔥you were never alone at @lospionerosmco and the friendship me and @gingerboyd_ got to form will be one’s well cherish forever!!!
