DIARY OF AN UNDERWEAR DREAM (Chapter 14): ROOTS Right before the world shut down in 2020, I boarded a flight home to El Salvador to shoot one of the most meaningful Eberjey shoots of my career. El Salvador is a tiny country with a big heart, framed by volcanic peaks, lush jungles, stunning lakes, and wild, untamed beaches. For years, its complicated political history kept it off the tourist map. But I wanted to show another side, the aspirational, breathtaking side that had shaped me. My dream team of photographer, stylist, and Eberjey crew said yes without hesitation. We brought in three incredible models, and my family rallied behind me, handling every detail on the ground. For a few days, we chased the light across black-sand beaches, captured the still magic of Lake Coatepeque, and soaked in the easy rhythm of surf culture. The collection itself felt like an extension of the landscape, earthy tones, deep jungle greens, warm cacaos, and delicate pastel laces. Back then, we had a swimwear line too, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. When I look at the photos now, I see more than just a shoot. I see a love letter to my roots, a way of embracing where I come from and sharing it with the world. A reminder that beauty, when you show it honestly, can shift perceptions and tell a new story.
