Pleasure to meet Senator Fabian Manning today to discuss and express @endviolenceeverywhere support for Senator Manning’s bill S-242, An Act Respecting National Action on Preventing Intimate Partner Violence. If passed, this will mandate the Government of Canada within two years to create a National Strategy for Prevention of Intimate Partner Violence and require Canada to report to all Houses of Parliament on what actions they have taken to stop IPV in Canada. I shared with Senator Manning about ongoing work EVE’s doing to support survivors of IPV and our efforts to collaborate with all political parties on legislation to address gaps in Canada’s justice system
