This week saw #transvisibilityday and although I don't think we need one day to see the trans people around us and shouldn't limit ourselves to this I spent the day thinking of those all around me who give endless support and love. For me this day is to say thank you to the allies who lift the trans people around them up and see them for their hearts and not their transness. To my colleagues, clients, artists thank you for seeing me, for ever supporting me, seeing me for my craft first and for genuinely being amazing. Most importantly my friends and family who I couldn't love more, it isn't easy to try and unlearn what you think you knew of someone for many years but your effort in doing so means the world. Trans people do not choose to be trans, it isn't a fashion choice, we are born this way and the personal struggle of having to deal with different things from the dysphoria of not perhaps looking on the outside how you feel on the inside to feeling like your a spectle in the room and not in a positive way are just a fraction of how hard it can be. Add into that race and you can't even imagine how hard it is. So if you can support organisations that aid black trans people/ trans youth please do because you never realise how a small thing can really help someone. So thank you to the allies and to the people who along the way who judged me, ended the friendship, I hope one day you will be able to have compassion to trans people and until then ✌️
