Just finding out about my friend Michael K. . I don’t even have the words!⠀ ⠀ He literally just texted me a few weeks ago to let me know he was going to be in LA for awhile. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve met many people in the business over my long career. Not all had the kindness, the grace, the dignity, the reverence, compassion and empathy for the community and people that Michael had!⠀ ⠀ And, talent! Undeniable!! He had that in every way imaginable! I, like many, was a huge fan of The Wire’ and Michael was a big reason why. ⠀ ⠀ When I first met him, I was so honored to do so. And, I told him I was. He said to me, “Man, I’m such a big Fan of what you do!” And, then proceeded to run down my list of credits! 🤯 I was amazed he even know who I was. We became good friends after that. ⠀ ⠀ I’m just devastated! 😥 Literally gut punched! The unexpectedness of it all. 💔⠀ ⠀ I lost a friend. The world lost a talented warrior for justice, hope, peace and the uplift of humanity! We were all better to have lived on earth while Michael was here.
