WE NEED HELP! Just before heading to the airport to fly back to LA from Oregon, my & my partner's car rental windows were smashed in and they stole all of our belongings, including ID, all my cards, & the @CashApp card that TDFLA's funding. We use this card to make purchases for kit supplies without it being linked to my personal cards (the tricky thing about running a mutual aid org). Bc CashApp doesn't have scam/fraud notices as most banks do, the people who stole from us were able to take out ALL of the funds on the card. They took out $3,000 which we've been raising this past quarter to send kits to all BIPOC trans folks on our waitlist. We are disputing the charges with CashApp, but they have been extremely unhelpful and said the process will take up to 45 days and will NOT guarantee us back the funds, even though the funds were STOLEN from us. I hate to make this an entire carousel and infographic-looking "aesthetic" post but just had to for the algorithm in hopes it would reach people. We're asking anyone who stands in solidarity with TDFLA and our free kits and self-defense classes to donate any amount, even if it's just $1 to help keep us afloat in the meantime with our website costs (which we use to ship kits out easily), storage costs, and any donations we can redistribute to trans femmes who are facing emergencies. We have an amazon wishlist with items that can help us build kits in the meantime (link in our bio).
