This app will not reward posting a static photo but if there’s a Reels sound that complements total despair, drop the link and I will make one.
As a writer, sometimes I have no words. At the end of the week when I’ve completed all my emails, and captions and planning and edits, I’m left empty. Today is a Friday and so I imagine that many of you are empty too. I have almost nothing to offer in the way of hope or encouragement or direction. I feel very confused and despondent. It’s a weird and slightly uncomfortable thing to have “followers” because it means that in some ways, you’re a leader, and in most cases I feel very confident in my ability to lead but I’m not a politician. Those who are supposed to be leading us have failed us. And I do not lead in a way that is particularly applicable to this moment. So, like many of you, I feel devastated and disappointed and...tired. That is not to say that there are not leaders who are tirelessly working to ensure that women’s bodily autonomy is protected. There are. And they are working extremely hard for us.
Something happened today that I never thought would and though we are tired, we can’t give up. (But we can rest a little if we need to.) In this photo, I’m going to tag organizations with information and reproductive health resources that include access to a*ortions and contraceptives. And I included some for Louisiana which is the state I currently live in where there will likely be a full a*bortion ban. Hang in there. I feel the same as y’all. ❤️
