#MarriageMonday This is a statement that has taken me over 20 years of marriage to work up the courage to say: I am not Judah’s everything. As much as we love the romantic idea of being “everything” for somebody else...or “completing each other” (thanks Jerry), those things actually don’t exist. I believe God designed us to be in community, which requires more than just each other! One of the greatest things we have done for our marriage is to invest in meaningful friendships: people who know us deeply as individuals who we can talk to about the silly, scary, or sacred things in life. These friendships can fill us up in ways that enable us to give more to our spouses than we could ever have done on our own. It’s truly a win-win!
