SI Joint Dysfunction Sacroiliac (SI) joint pain is a common form of back pain found at the connecting point of the sacrum (the lowest point of your spine) and pelvis. SI joint pain is different from mechanical low back pain. It’s commonly felt in the buttock region, making it hard to sit, stand on one leg, go up/down stairs, walk, and run. Causes of SI joint pain include arthritis, traumatic injury (e.g. falls to the buttock), pregnancy, and post-partum. SI joint pain is sometimes missed, and often mistaken for other forms of pain. It’s important to have a physical therapist, chiropractor, or massage therapist appropriately assess for the involvement of the SI joint, and review strategies for managing pain. Education, exercise, and a hands-on approach can dramatically improve symptoms, and get you back moving. At Myodetox, we strive to ensure you’re not lost in your direction of care, and prioritize getting you back to doing the things you love. Book today.
