You can’t see how relieved I am. I’m 41 today - grateful to be here and ready for so much more. The story is for the last year I’ve been dealing with some serious health issues. For a while I couldn’t walk to the end of my street. I couldn’t play bass for more than 15 minutes max. Couldn’t get through a full day without (really) crashing for 2-3 hours. Was like, I thought I would feel old at 40 but this?? GTFOH. Anyways, after months of missed diagnosis, I was finally diagnosed correctly with Hashimoto’s disease in October 2020 - an autoimmune disease that attacks your thyroid gland. This lead to discovering some other related issues and I basically had to change up everything in my life to recover. Small potatoes. Easy choice. Months later I’m just getting back to days without extreme fatigue and constant inflammation/pain, and able to start up occupational and physical therapy to complete my recovery from atrophy etc. All amidst Covid. It’s been a battle and thanks to my incredibly supportive (and superfine) wife, inspirational family and medical team - I’m almost there. Health is the fulcrum for us all. I’m so grateful to all of our nations and worlds health care practitioners, providing a safe solution to this pandemic. The last thing I want is for anyone to be knocked down - by anything...so that we can all move on from this pandemic and rock our f*cking faces off at an OAR concert. See you there soon and thanks for all the love fam - I’m feeling it 🙏
