@selia_shred crazy switch ups 🫡 working on those ledges! “WHY DID I SWITCH TO AN INLINE BOOT? In a nutshell: Moxi Jack 1 got naturally soft after skating 2 yrs-> no money for new boot-> wanted to try out that combo anyways The whole story: I've been skating my Moxi Jack 1 skates for over 2 years now. The last couple of months, I was skating A LOT, it mostly ended up in a 5hrs+ sesh. At one point I realized I wasn't able to do the same tricks I did a couple of weeks ago with ease bc my ankles were able to bend too much and I didnt had the stability from the boot which especially began with me doing ledges more frequently which includes a lot of jumping. I've worn out my skates so much they felt like a Moxi Lolly. (Also noticed some slight pain in my ankle when landing and bending). I didnt like the tought of spending much money for new skates while saving for my travels but obv wouldve done it cuz I started loosing fun in skating(imagine not being able to skate as good as you were only bc of your skates, superfrustrating). So me being me, I first made myself crazy for one month about buying new skates until I finally remembered I was given a pair of inline boots a couple of months ago by rbuergin 🙏🏼 I wanted to try out that setup I have rn already earlier. The moment the leather of my skates started tearing on the back I knew it was time🫠 I didnt notice the heel difference nor had a hard time adjusting, what I am noticing tough is how careless I'm skating. Being able to focus on the trick itself and not having trouble staying on the coping, landing on the coping without being afraid of my ankle to bend too much. Thats when I actually realized how anxious I was about hurting myself on worn out skates. With all that said I want to point out that I am very happy with the Moxi skate and the lack of stability was caused naturally by skating so much in them. There is no better or worse boot its all preference and me being used to a stiff boot from iceskating I feel very comfortable in a hardshell (or a new jack 1 or 2 probably).
