Being able to voice a queer young character like Yaz on #jurassicworld #campcretaceous has been one of the most rewarding journeys. 🦖The whole time I just kept feeling like it was a young kaus getting the chance to understand herself at a younger age. I hope this representation does that for my other young folks out there. I can't thank the creative team including @highpriestoffunk for advocating for this authentic reflection of what love, feelings, and the power of queerness can be. When I found out that we could finally actually explore this storyline on screen I was in tears. unbeknownst to us all, it was something that emerged so organically within the character development and it happened BECAUSE of the active efforts of the writers room (I know it was no small feat). Bethany Armstrong Johnson @notjustanybethany (who wrote the episode with Rick Williams) told me that I deserve to be represented. And we do. We do.
