Hello, this is Rob Clayton photographer, b.1966, @clayton.rob and I am sharing with you a selection of my images from “Estate” (1991) and “Estate - Return” (2018). "Estate" 1990/1991 Crusader Close An image that comes from putting the time in in long form documentary. I shot one frame but was not happy so ran ahead of these two residents and composed a better shot. Working class camaraderie, resilience and sharing is reflected in this image of two women helping each other move a fireplace, I am guessing for reuse in another flat. This was familiar to me growing up in #Brickfields in #Worcester where working-class people relied heavily on friends and family and repurposing material items was a key part of “getting by”. “Second-hand” was commonplace. #workingclass #councilhousing #documentaryphotography #British #modernism #post-war #consensus #RobClayton #housing #estate
