Comparison is our biggest enemy.
Anyone in the fitness industry most likely has heard this saying a few times. Even to this day I struggle with comparing myself to other girls in the gym. I have started to switch my mindset to think I am just admiring their progress, and not trying to look just like them, because in reality that is impossible.
I get a lot of messages that say “how do I look like you?”
“what do you do to look like that?”
“Can you tell me what you do to get x y & z?”
“How long will it take for me to look like that?”
Whether those seem admirable from an outsiders perspective, I almost take some of those as an insult. I have really worked hard on myself as a person & that has began to reflect on how my body looks.
My best advice, create your OWN personal routine with what you feel comfortable & confident doing, how many days a week or hours you are willing to commit to, and your diet. Start off with what feels slightly challenging for you & continue to progress overtime when you are ready to.
Focus on taking care of yourself from the inside out. If you are not giving your body the nutrients it needs, your progress may come at a slower rate. I used to maybe eat around 500-800 calories in a day, I was terrified to exceed anything over 1200. I stopped paying attention to the calories on packaging & the numbers on the scale and have been focusing on fueling my body. I still eat more on the clean side, but for my own personal benefit numbers make me feel some type of way so I do not excessively pay attention to them.
