Over 1,300 nautical miles down, many more to go… So this is what I have been up to for the past year… @leannastrohecker and I started dreaming up the idea of sailing to The Bahamas back in February 2024. We weren’t ready to sign a lease and hustle in the film industry (especially with the strikes), so we bought a boat and set out in search of a grand adventure instead. After months of prep, we set sail from Beaufort, SC on March 1st, sailed down the coast to Key Biscayne, and made our first ocean crossing to Bimini on April 1st. Since then we have been exploring all around the islands, swimming in the bluest waters, meeting sailors from around the world, and conquering some awesome ocean sailing! Captaining our boat has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life so far. Not only have I had to be a sailor, but a mechanic, navigator, weatherman, plumber, and overall handyman as well. I’ve learned and grown so much, and I couldn’t have asked for a better first mate than @leannastrohecker to tackle it with. It’s been the adventure of a lifetime, and it’s not over yet!
