Before you go to say hello, make sure to ask, as it may be on the clock! Ski Patrol dogs, also known as Avalanche Rescue dogs, can be lifesavers in an emergency. They train for years to be able to perform search and rescue missions under pressure in the cold and rugged terrain. “Avi dogs” are able to cover acres of land covered in snow in just a fraction of the time it would take us humans - with their powerful sense of smell, they can locate a victim buried 10 to 15 feet down!
