In 2020, I wrote down in my goals that I wanted to get into the Music Business Education space. I dabbled in it a little here and there, but nothing full time. Didn’t really know what my entry point would be. Then I remembered that my friends @rance1500 @jamesfauntleroyii had a school. So....I asked my friends if they were open to letting me teach. And they agreed, and I was scared AF. 😂😂 I didn’t have a clue what I would possibly be able to give them as a group that would be beneficial in some way. I also didn’t know if I would just totally bomb it & my goal would go unaccomplished. After the first week, I realized they didn’t really need a “teacher”, they just needed me to be Lauren. Little did they know, I needed them too. I learned a bit of confidence that I didn’t know I had, a level of compassion that needed to be felt daily, and also....maybe I do know a thing or two about the jobs I’ve done. Sometimes its not about writing a press release about what you’re doing “in your community”. Its about having real influence that can be felt and creating access that you didn’t have. Cheers to my @1500soundacademy graduates! I am so so proud of each of you for doing EXACTLY what you were blessed to be in this business: to have confidence, be of service, and always bet on yourself. For my currents: I’ll see y’all in a few months! Thank you to EVERYBODY that I asked to pull up and chat with my kids, even if you couldn’t make it.
