New Mexico is the self-proclaimed Land of Enchantment, but growing up there, we had called it the Land of Entrapment. In my naive youth that was obviously meant in a derogatory way. But, for most folks visiting for the first time, or those of us who do take leave and return, the idea of entrapment takes on a much more magical meaning.
