When I was younger, I remember wanting to marry a man that was outgoing and enjoyed being in the middle of the dance floor (where I usually am). When I met Zeb, I quickly learned how shy he was. I wondered whether we would be a good fit because I loved being in front of the camera and could give an impromptu speech in front of thousands of people, and he didn’t like asking waiters for a refills on bread. I thought I needed a partner who was just as extroverted as I was... but I was completely wrong. Over time, I realized that while I’m dancing with my friends, Zeb is looking around to make sure no one at a party feels left out. While I ate dinner at my wedding, Zeb walked around to thank every guest for coming to celebrate with us. While I got into the Ferrari to drive home after we got married, Zeb didn’t get into the car until he hugged everyone goodbye. I had no idea that finding someone who was the opposite of me in so many ways, meant having a person that covered my weak spots and noticed the things I overlooked. Needless to say, having to ask for all the refills and negotiate any prices for the rest of our lives is well worth the effort. Grateful for my shy, and incredibly observant husband. 🫶🏼
