ICYMI: A new bill dropped last week -- Healthy Meals, Healthy Kids Act. 👏 This bill includes several key improvements: ✅ Expanding access to summer meals ✅ Establishing a permanent, nationwide Summer EBT program ✅ Increasing access to no-cost school meals by expanding community eligibility ✅ Modernizing and streaming access to the WIC program While we support this bill, we're disappointed that it doesn't contain one critical provision that would be a game-changer for kids and the school and community programs that help feed them during the summer. We urge Congress to rectify this and revise the bill to include policies that allow summer meals to be served in non-congregate settings.
