This piece is titled "Looking Toward Tibbetts Corner" and is painted by @mitchell_johnson_artist . We are especially excited to share this piece because it showcases our beloved TMA! This perspective in this landscape is from the top of the William F. Poe Parking garage towards the area in the Curtis Hixon Park historically known as Tibbetts corner. During the late 19th Century the intersection of Lafayette and Franklin was a commercial center for Tampa and was given the name Tibbetts corner. The artist choses to omit certain details to focus on shape, form, and color evident in the architecture on display in downtown Tampa. We hope you enjoy this perspective of the museum and Tampa.
