30 Years of DJing (2004-2006): PACIFIQUE AT SERENA, BEAUTIFUL HITS #1, REMIXING WAY OUT WEST AND WARMING UP FOR CHEMICAL BROTHERS IN BERLIN In 2003 I got a crazy idea of doing a party at Serena - North Europe’s biggest indoor waterpark. I knew this was too big production for the Unity posse, so we contacted the Labyrinth crew for a collaboration. Petri and Joonas were instantly excited about it, we contacted Serena, presented the idea... and Pacifique was born! Everything was going smoothly until we had two major setbacks: firstly Serena had thought we would be doing “a modern dance event” when we were doing “a rave dance event” and this only became clear after we had started the marketing. We managed to convince them that even our kind of dance event was still a good one, but then came another bigger problem... Espoo police called me up one day and told that Serena did not have a license for events running until 04am (which we were already advertising) and overall their license did not cover these kind of events. We had a fairly serious meeting with the police, fire department and health officials (where each of them informed us that they could stop the event from happening), but in some magical way we managed to convince them that we are trust worthy enough to pull it off safely. 1/9 CONTINUES IN COMMENTS👉
