A snapshot into the making of Rose Quartz Indigo Visions. The dyeing process requires an initial first layer of Rose Quartz made from a hot dye of Lac and Anatto. The fabric is then tied to make a resist pattern than dyed in indigo. However the 100% silk twill that we use is very tightly woven and the silkiness of the fiber does not let natural indigo dye bind to it. This was how the Visions print was born, we digitally archived the tie-dyed cotton pattern then matched it to a Pantone color for digital printing. Digital printing is one of the lowest impact ways of applying color to fabric with water-soluble non-toxic inks. Introducing the Visions Silk Set. Available now.
