I am thrilled, ecstatic, overjoyed, and filled with every other happy emotion to share that Mimi Yoga Coconut Grove opens on Monday, September 16. Mimi Yoga Coconut Grove is a dream location (2829 Bird Avenue), and I cannot wait for our community to experience it and grow. The space is stunning, we have an incredible lineup of teachers and classes and I will be teaching at both studios. Rest assured, Wynwood yogis, my schedule at Wynwood remains unchanged. Never in a million years did I think that having not one, but two yoga studios was in the cards for me. Life is crazy like that. I found yoga in the first place because of my daughter, Hala. The stress of raising a child with special needs and adapting to life in a new country brought me anguish and anxiety, but it also led me to my mat—a transformative experience. While yoga became my salvation, nothing could save my Hala, making this studio opening bittersweet. I carry the pain of loss daily, but being able to continue on this path she set me on gives my pain purpose. Opening another studio where I can share this life-changing practice honors her memory.
