the cancer update I wasn't exactly hoping for, but 2025 is just going strong in dumpster fire theme: during my re-check procedure a couple weeks ago, they found another mass that tested positive as another NET (neuroendocrine tumor). the good news is, that the growth rate of this one is super low, it's small by relative definition, and prognosis is still good. the bad news is, I have to have another surgery and it's a trickier procedure because of the nature of this specific tumor, but they're hoping to be able to get it all removed— then we'll be reassessing next steps, after we get some more insight after this surgery in terms of what my treatment plan looks like. ironically, this month marks 2 years since my Endo excision surgery, which I was hoping to be the start of a little break from my body throwing medical frisbee nunchucks at me. life has some other plans sometimes. this feels so black mirror, but I know I'm gonna get some questions on my original diagnosis / cancer experience so far, so imma save myself some labor here— if you want to read my substack on that, comment LINK and I'll send you the essay (removing then paywall on that essay for just for a few days🫶) and then lastly, if you've made it this far, I just have 5 quickies to leave you with: 1. F*CK cancer 2. VOTE tomorrow PLEASE 3. Healthcare is a human right, and things like cancer are political. 4. Get your preventative screenings and exams 💗 5. Consider wearing a mask as a measure of community care, particularly during virus season in public places that immunocompromised people deserve to stay safe in and exist in, like doctors offices, grocery stores, etc.🫶 I lied, and 6., enjoy this video of anesthesia-me saying I finally get what everyone is saying about propofol naps, bc my first one felt like it went by in a blink, but this one felt like a great nap😆
