NANRO USA FELLOWSHIP 2025 — The Beginning of Our First Journey The inaugural NANRO USA Fellowship has come to a meaningful close — a program connecting the present and future of Korean cuisine on a global stage. Over two transformative weeks, chefs from Korea and the United States came together to learn, reflect, and explore new possibilities through Hansik. The NANRO USA Fellowship is a global exchange initiative that invites chefs from around the world to engage deeply with Korean culinary heritage and philosophy— and to reinterpret those lessons in their own kitchens and communities. This first edition featured visits with master artisans, temple food immersion, and participation in the Hansik Conference, offering a profound look into the essence and identity of Korean cuisine. 📍 Inaugural NANRO USA Fellows 2025 👨‍🍳 Fidel Caballero | Corima (NYC, ⭐ Michelin 1 Star) A leading voice in progressive Mexican cuisine, recognized by Bon Appétit as one of 2024’s “Best New Restaurants.” 👨‍🍳 Jihan Lee | Nami Nori (NYC, Miami, etc.) A Korean-American chef and former Masa alum exploring new pathways for Korean flavors and identity. 👩‍🍳 Suzanne “Suzy” Cupps | Lola’s (NYC) 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist, celebrated for her vegetable-forward cuisine rooted in Southern and Filipino heritage. 👨‍🍳 Yuu Shimano | Restaurant Yuu (NYC, ⭐ Michelin 1 Star) Bridging classical French gastronomy with Japanese precision to champion sustainability and mindfulness in cooking. Through this fellowship, the roots of Korean cuisine met the tables of the world — and from that connection, new inspirations and stories will continue to grow. 🌿✨ 한식의 글로벌을 위한 새로운 시작, NARNO USA 첫 펠로우쉽 행사가 성공적으로 마무리 되었습니다.
