Today would’ve been Jonas Mekas’ 100th Birthday. Here he is on stage at Zebulon Brooklyn in 2007 accompanied by Kenny Wollesen’s Himalayas band, reading poetry in “Dedication” – the first film of his 365 Day Project! We loved him and his presence in our lives. “I do not understand, I never really understood, never really lived in the so-called real world. I lived... I live in my own imaginary world, which is as real as any other world, as real as the real worlds of all the other people around me.” ― Jonas Mekas Jonas was such an inspiration! His was a long, full life of poetry and film, archiving and presenting, and - of course founding of Film-Makers' Cooperative, which became @anthologyfilmarchives –a bastion of the avant-garde!
