Guess what...I'M A NATIONAL BOOK AWARD FINALIST!!!!! I've been waiting for this day for a couple of months now. Got on my bike at 9am this morning and waited for the list to be dropped at 10. I stopped at a corner, parked my bike at 10:08. Went to the @nationalbookfoundation page on Twitter, saw the Victory. Stand! cover amongst the other 24 finalists....and lost it, in broad daylight! I'm so grateful, y'all. If you only knew my story. Long road, baby, but we here now!
