Flower Essences + Scarlet Did you know our products contain Flower Essences? They do! Flower Essences are a gentle, but potent type of medicine. Each flower carries their own unique energy, flower essences capture that energy to be shared with you. Our products mostly use Scarlet Pimpernel flower essence. Scarlet is my soul family. She represents Joy, Laughter and Resilience. I love her so dearly. She came to me in the garden of my herbal school. In that instant she became a close ally, and has been with me ever since - following me with every move of home and business. Since she shared those three attributes with me so clearly, I’ve often wondered how she could represent attributes that seem contradictory. Joy and Laughter are vibrant and light, fleeting, skipping gifts. But resilience? That sounds heavy, tough or hardened. Scarlet has taught me that Resilience is actually light - it is flow, movement, an ease to pivot. It creates the courage and space to open your heart and be vulnerable, again and again. To fully experience Joy and Laughter, as well as the Resilience to move through pain, sadness and hurt. Scarlett sleeps a lot. She rests all winter. And during the spring, summer and fall she only opens to greet the sun. If the sun is out, she is too, in full glory. And if the sun stays hidden, she sleeps. There’s also a lesson there for me. She cares for and nurtures herself so deeply... she gets walked on, beat up by foggy maritime winds, and grows in the most precarious places. But she gets quiet and still, every day.
