I want to make it clear that I don’t label foods as “good” or “bad” and haven’t cut out any foods since I started my journey. However, I have learned how important it is to properly fuel my body with correct portion sizes and nutrients. When I first started my weight loss in 2020, it was the most eye opening thing to see how much I was consuming with the meals I ate. I would run 2 miles as a workout and then reward myself with the 98 point shake from sonic & had no idea I was consuming 5x more than I burned working out. (Side note- I never reward myself with food anymore because it just created a toxic mindset for me and I would workout to earn food-even though I was burning way less than I was consuming) I still eat most of the same meals I used to but using ingredients that make me feel better & help me stick to my goals. I also still enjoy the “before” meals in moderation but at my heaviest, I was having them way too frequently without a second thought. You don’t have to cut out your favorite foods to have success with weight loss but it’s also important that you find ways to incorporate the nutrients you need in a day! Making copycat versions of those meals has helped me so much to stay on track and achieve my goals 💪
