Posted @withregram • @theeditorslist So on Tuesday I went to @drsophieshotter clinic on Harley Street to try @sofwavemedical_uk this is a newish technology from Israel that uses ultrasound fired into the skin at precisely 1.5 mm to cause thermal injury that in turn stimulates collagen to give lift and firmness to sagging skin. It has been shown in trials to be particularly effective on the jawline and to lift eyebrows, (apparently lifting eyebrows by up to 3 to 4 mm). This is not a replacement for face lift surgery! I would say It’s for people who are not quite ready to go under the knife or people who never want to do surgery but want a bit of a lift, you might get about 30% improvement, the results are also not instantaneous and take around three months to come through. It’s also not a cheap treatment, it costs £3000 for a full face and neck. I was gifted. I didnt treat my forehead area as I don’t feel I need a massive lift there- I also asked the nurse to avoid a large pigmentation mark on my cheek as I feel that heat treatments can sometimes trigger dark pigmentation. I do see some signs of sag going on around my jawline so I will keep you informed as to how I found this treatment. With regards to pain, I did personally find this pretty painful, the pain was only momentary though, a sharp stab and then completely gone as Verity fired each pass - , I would highly recommend if you offered paracetamol with codeine take it if you can as I’m sure this would be helpful. The great thing about this treatment is there is zero downtime you can literally walk out onto the street without any redness or swelling. Although like me you might look a little blotchy How Sofwave differs from something like Ultherapy is that the Sofwave energy is being fired into the skin at precisely 1.5 mm (much shallower in places than Ultherapy) so There is no room for practitioner error. I’m also going to post up an image on stories of one side of my face has been treated and the other that has not and you can definitely see a lift in the cheek area.
