Have you ever seen a better looking tempura sandwich? 🤤
Ingredients:
1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
1 Large Egg, cold
1/2 cup Iced water
2 Large silverside fillettes (or other small white fish), cleaned and deboned
Cookin oil as needed
1 Large Onion
1/2 cup Flour
2 Potato Rolls
2 Silverside Tempura
4 tbsp Hoy mayo
1 cup Shredded Iceberg Lettuce
2 Tbsp Furikake
Steps:
1. Mix the all purpose flour, egg and cold water together. Be careful not to overmix it (20 to 30 seconds) to keep the formation of gluten to the minimum.
2. On a deep pan, heat the oil to medium.
3. Drench the fillettes in the tempura mix, and get inmediatly in hot oil.
4. Cook each side fos a minute or two, and transfer to a cooling rack.
5. Thinly cut the onions, cover them with a thin layer of flour.
6. Shake any excess flour and get in the hot oil for one minute or until golden brown. Be careful! it will keep on browning once you take them off the hot oil. Drain and reserve at room temperature.
7. Toast potato rolls, spread hot mayonnaise on each side, and top with tempura silverside, shredded lettuce, crispy onions, and furikake.
