Just like religions, football has its rituals. Fans pray during the chants, they dress up in the jerseys 👕, and the players voice their confessions by apologizing to fans and teammates during press conferences 🗣️🎙️ Just like religions, football has its equivalent to pilgrimage. It is on every fan’s bucket list to attend a World Cup game at least once in their lifetime 🏆 Just like religions, football has its prophets and its idols 🙇🏻‍♂️ Many idolize their favorite players, and give them a veneration that could be characterized as religious. Just like religions, football has a sense of fraternity 🤝🏼 Doesn’t matter what language you speak, your gender, your age, or your social class, it’s a universal language and it unites. Just like religions, football has a sense of exclusivity 🤚🏼 You can’t support 2 football clubs at the time without being seen as a plastic fan. Sadly football is also sometimes the source of conflicts.
