It’s an essential read for everyone that not only has an interest in Bii and medical device related problems but also ANYONE who thinks scientific rigour is essential when doing medical studies. Amongst other things, the authors of the “study” took the liberty to throw ASIA under the bus. Yes, you’ve read correctly. But They didn’t do their own ASIA study to discount it. The literature on ASIA syndrome is massive and have sources around the world: the latest scientific minds to write about ASIA are from India and Ecuador. Leeds university recently published a paper based on 500 cases of ASIA. Dr. Zuckerman article states “There are many outrageous articles denying the existence of breast implant illness, but this may be the worst since it was published after major studies documented that breast implant illness exists. The authors are prominent plastic surgeons who are members of the Aesthetic Society and/or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), which are the two major associations for plastic surgeons. All but one of the authors have financial ties to companies that make breast implants.” It’s also very interesting to read that the authors of this study purposely decided to omit important studies such as the one of @drlujeanfeng Just know this: The scientist who took and avid interest in ASIA in North American is also the one who recently published a scientific article on the existence of Bii. But there is no mention of those articles/studies in there. Just a total and purposeful dismissal of a big chunk of scientific literature that backs up Bii and ASIA.
